I have worked with King Homes, specifically Chuck King, for a number of years. He built a custom house for my wife and I in 1999. We also had him add a second fireplace to our home as well as other additions over the time we owned the house. He also responded quickly to our need for repairs after Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Ike.

Hurricane Ike required very extensive repairs and as always, we were very pleased with his attention to detail, our desired schedule and his ability to understand our wishes.

I have since used King Homes to develop some wooded property into a fine retirement area for my wife and I with another custom house for us and also one for my daughter and her family. We have had many people tell us the area looks like a park. This work was completed in a very rural area with electricity as the only available utility. This required the installation of sewer treatment facilities as well as clean water supplies and roads.

We currently reside full time in these homes.

I would recommend King Homes for any size project without reservations. Problems will always occur during any project, but the willingness to quickly address and solve problems to our satisfaction is the reason my recommendation comes without any reservations.

This letter is provided to document that "King Homes" was the contractor of record for the project referenced above. This project was a Texas Community Development Block Grant Program administered by the office of rural community affairs (ORCA) utilizing federal funding.

This particular project involved the replacement of private sanitary sewer service lines which ran from the private welling to the roadway right-of-way to tie into the existing city sewer cleanout. As such, temporary working easements were obtained to allow the contractor to work on private property in close proximity to the residential structure. Each interaction involved contacting the homeowner to coordinate replacement of the sewer service, which meant for a short period of time the homeowner would be without sewer service. The contractor maintained good communication throughout the project duration and exhibited good public relation skills with the citizens of China through the discourse of his work.

The remodel we were doing was not a huge job, but it did require the removal of a load-bearing wall, which we were not willing to trust just anyone to do. Mr. King visited our home to look over our request, explained how he and his crew would execute the project, and within a few days assembled a bid for us.

Once the project began, we were very impressed by the courtesy and level of professionalism of the various trades as they came in to perform their tasks, from demolition to completion. The work was accomplished to our complete satisfaction, in a reasonable amount of time, and at a reasonable cost.

In February of 2007, I bought a home that King Homes was building in the Fairfield subdivision in Beaumont, TX. At the time, only the slab had been poured, therefore, I was able to customize several aspects of the home during the building process. Mr. King was extremely professional during the entire building process. In the beginning, he outlined for me the entire process since I had never built a home before and told me in general what decisions would need to be made and when. As the building progressed, he gave me ample notice when it was time to make decisions. He and his staff were always available to answer my questions or address my concerns as were his general foreman and his staff. Mr. King personally visited the site many times to make sure that everything was progressing as promised. I dealt personally with a few of his contractors, such as the painter and the granite company and they were just as conscientious and professional. The home was completed within a week of the original estimated completion date.

Overall, I was extremely pleased with King Homes during the construction phase and extremely pleased with the home itself. It is with no reservations that I am able to recommend Mr. King and King Homes.

King Homes built a 1200sf home in Lumberton for my mother several years ago after Hurricane Ike destroyed her home. I provide Chuck a plan view of a single story house that would be the right size for my mother. After I made some changes to the lay-out of the house and specified the trim, Chuck got started. He said that he would have the house completed in ~100 days and he kept his word. the quality of the workmanship was superb. We have not had any warranty issues with the house or appliances Chuck installed.

I had several companies provide proposals for construction of the house and Chuck submitted the most competitive bid. I made several changes to the house plans after start of construction, and the cost of those changes were very reasonably priced.

Without any reservations, I can recommend King Homes for any new home construction.

We have worked in the past with King Homes on several projects in Port Arthur in both single family as well as multi family. Some of the addresses of the singly family jobs are 2741 19th st., 737 11th st. and 800 10th St. also some duplexes at 549 Gulfway, 2547 9th St., Two at 15th and Memorial (one of which is ADA). Also some fourplexes one at 2929 18th St and one beside a single family big at 800 10th St.

King Homes provided detailed cost estimates; draw schedules based on phases, phase breakdown definitions, site plans, cleared lots when needed, constructed buildings and cleaned up jobsites for move in ready.

All the projects we have worked with King Homes with were HUD compliance and some being completely ADA accessible. King Homes did every project up to all applicable codes including city codes as well as windstorm approved.

King Homes carried all the approved insurance limits throughout the projects including Payment and Performance Bonds, General Liability, Builders Risk, Auto Insurance and was worker Compensation compliance.

We have called upon King Homes on other projects we were interested in pursuing as we value their knowledge and opinion in the construction field.

We would not hesitate to recommend King Homes for any construction Project.

After Hurricane Rita left a path of destruction throughout Jefferson County in 2005, our Texas State Optical office was left with substantial damage. The entire roof was lost from the Dowlen Road Center where our office is located.

My partner, Leigh Kimball, and I contacted King Homes for a bid to get our optometric office back in order. We found their bid reasonable and comprehensive.

We had a trying time dealing with our insurance company. Because of an inordinate time procuring and insurance settlement, we were extremely interested in returning to operations as soon as possible.
